Design

We created a virtual environment and experience keeping children between the ages of 8 to 13 in mind. However, this platform still attracts people of all ages who are interested in space exploration.
Every scene and interaction is designed from a first-person perspective (commonly known as FPP). The users will start their journey in a space shuttle to understand what planets they will explore today and meet Gloop, our embodied agent, to serve as a guide and companion for the user while exploring and learning about different planets’ environments.
Then, the user can teleport to one of the three planets, Mars, Venus, or Urunas to explore the planet's environment. When on Mars, the user will see the largest volcano in the Solar System, Olympus Mons, will be shown and explained to users through sequences of volcanic eruption on Mars. On venues, users would learn about the high temperature and acid rain. On Uranus, the user would learn it’s frozen ground and stinky smell. In the end, the user would go back to space shuttle.
Results
More than 30 people came and played our game and 80% of them said that they learned about Mars, Venus, and Uranus.
